About Arma 3
Arma 3 is a military sandbox from Bohemia Interactive. Fight combined arms battles on foot, in armour and in the air, run co-op operations with a milsim unit, play official modes such as Warlords, Escape and Combat Patrol, or let a Game Master run the battle live in Zeus.
Arma 3 was released on Steam on 12 September 2013. The Apex and Contact expansions are now part of the game, so its terrains Altis, Stratis, Malden, Tanoa and Livonia cover over 610 km² between them. The Steam Workshop holds more than 160,000 items, from weapons and vehicles to whole new game modes, and Creator DLC from other studios adds Vietnam, Cold War Germany, the Sahara, the Second World War and more, most recently Expeditionary Forces (November 2024).
Bohemia still updates the game: Update 2.22 (11 August 2026) added the MH-80 Ghost Hawk helicopters and new languages, and was the first update released for Windows and the Mac port on the same day; Mini-Update 2.22 followed on 30 September 2026. How to Join Your Arma 3 Server
Your server's IP address and port are in the Gamepanel as soon as it's online.
Join through A3Launcher
- With your server running, copy its query info from the Gamepanel home page.
- Click Add server to A3Launcher in the Gamepanel.
- Paste the query info into the A3Launcher page that opens and press Check.
- Players can now find your server in A3Launcher, which loads the server's mods for them.

How do I choose an Arma 3 server host?▾

How do I install mods on my Arma 3 server?▾
Use the Steam Workshop button in the Gamepanel to find a mod and install it, then add it to the Mods field in the Commandline Manager in the form @modid;. Exile and Epoch can also be installed from our Mod Manager. Our mods guide covers renaming mod folders, common errors and scheduled mod updates.
How do I add a custom mission?▾
Upload the mission .pbo to the MPMissions folder with the file manager or FTP, then add its name (without .pbo) to the mission cycle in your server config. See our mission guide, and our list of official missions for the default mission names.
How do I set an admin password and become admin?▾
Set passwordAdmin in your server config in the Gamepanel, join the server and type #login followed by your password in chat. From there you can change missions, kick or ban players and restart the server. See our configuration guide and console commands.
Are DLC and Creator DLC supported?▾
Yes. Install the Creator DLC files with the button in the Gamepanel, then add each one to the mod parameter in the Commandline Manager: S.O.G. Prairie Fire, Global Mobilization, CSLA Iron Curtain, Western Sahara, Spearhead 1944 and Reaction Forces. See our Creator DLC guide and official DLC guide.
Can I run a headless client?▾
Yes. A headless client needs a second Arma 3 server from us, and the mission must support one. Open a ticket and we'll set the second server up as a headless client, then add its IP to your main server's config. Our headless client guide has the steps.
My modded server says "Out of memory". What do I do?▾
That usually means a heavily modded server is running the 32-bit server. Click Change Arma Version (32 or 64 bit) in the Gamepanel and choose 64-bit. See our out-of-memory fix.
Can I use InfiSTAR or other admin tools?▾
Yes. You can install InfiSTAR (a paid admin tool and anti-hack), AdminToolkit or the Gigacraft Admin Menu yourself. See our InfiSTAR and AdminToolkit guides.
Can Mac players join my server?▾
Bohemia publishes experimental Mac ports of Arma 3, and Update 2.22 (11 August 2026) was the first one released on the same day as the Windows version. Mac players don't have the game's Launcher, so they load mods and Creator DLC another way, as described on Bohemia's community wiki.
