About The Isle
The Isle is a multiplayer dinosaur survival game from Afterthought, in which every player is a dinosaur. You start small and have to eat, drink, rest and grow to adulthood while every other creature on the island is a predator, prey or a rival.
The game entered Early Access on Steam on 1 December 2015. Evrima is a full rebuild of The Isle on a new codebase, with new AI, animation, sound and growth systems, and it's the version Afterthought actively develops. The original version is now known as Legacy.
In Evrima, survival is unforgiving. Players manage hunger, thirst, stamina and oxygen, and injuries like bleeding wounds and broken bones take real time to heal. Combat is physical, so a fight can end hours of growth in seconds. Carnivores, herbivores and fast, fragile prey species each need a different way of playing, and most servers develop their own rules and culture around that.
That's why community servers matter so much in The Isle. A dedicated server lets you choose the player count, AI, growth speed, nesting and day length, and keep the server running for your community around the clock.

How to Join Your The Isle Server
Your server name is set in Game.ini, and the IP address and port are in the Gamepanel.
On PC (Steam)
- Launch The Isle on the Evrima branch.
- Open the server browser and search for your server's name.
- Select it, enter the password if you've set one, and join.
Can't find it? Check the server name and password in your server configuration, and make sure you're on the same game version as the server.

How do I join my The Isle server?▾
Launch The Isle on the Evrima branch, open the server browser and search for your server's name, then join with the password if you've set one. The steps are in the how to join section above.
Why does The Isle come with 12 GB RAM?▾
Evrima uses more memory than most games, and more again with lots of players and AI. 12 GB keeps a normal community server stable. For a busy, high-AI server, choose Extreme hardware and more RAM with a custom build.
Which plan should I choose?▾
10 slots suits a small group or a private server, 30 slots a growing community, and 60 slots a busy public server. Pick Extreme hardware if you'll have lots of players and AI active at once. Need more than 60 slots? Use the custom build, then set the player count in Game.ini.
How do I make myself an admin?▾
Add your Steam ID to the admin list in the server config. Our admin setup guide has the steps and the commands you can use.

Does The Isle support mods?▾
Not at the moment. Evrima doesn't have mod support, so servers run the game as Afterthought releases it, with your own settings.
Will my server update automatically?▾
You can schedule automatic updates in the Gamepanel or update in one click. Afterthought's updates sometimes need config changes, so check the patch notes before updating a big server.
Can I move my existing server to PingPerfect?▾
