About Beasts of Bermuda
Beasts of Bermuda is a multiplayer dinosaur survival game from Sastrei Studios. You play as a dinosaur, pterosaur or marine reptile and grow from hatchling to full size in an ecosystem made of other players, while storms and world events sweep across the Bermuda Triangle.
It has been in Early Access on Steam since 21 December 2018 and is still updated regularly. The Guts & Glamour update on 15 October 2026 added the Zupaysaurus, a scavenger that can mimic other creatures, and the Favor Shop, where players spend the Favor they earn by growing and taking part in world events.
Every server sets its own rules. Life Cycle is the full survival experience, Combat drops you straight into fights, and Free Roam lets players explore without the pressure. How do I choose a Beasts of Bermuda server host?▾
Check a few things: enough player slots and RAM for your community, a location near your players, an easy way to change map and game mode, full access to Game.ini for admin ranks and settings, and automatic backups of your players' dinos. Can I make my own private Beasts of Bermuda server?▾
Yes. Set a server password in Game.ini and only players with the password can join. You choose the map, game mode, rules and admins, and you can make the server public again whenever you like.
How do I change the map or game mode?▾
How do I add admins?▾
Open Game.ini in the text editor and add a ServerAdmins line with each admin's SteamID64 and rank, then restart. Ranks work in reverse: 0 is the default admin level. The community config tool builds the ranks and permissions for you. See our admin guide.
Will players lose their dinos if I change map?▾
Not if you migrate them. Rename the Entities, DeathHistory, PlayerPunishments and UserProfiles save files from the old map's name to the new one, and leave the world files to regenerate. Our migration guide has the exact file names.
How do I clear burrow tunnels on my server?▾
Tunnel networks are saved in their own DynamicWorld file, so deleting it wipes every tunnel without touching dinos or player profiles, as in our tunnel guide. Since the Guts & Glamour update, admins with the ModifyServer permission can also remove a single tunnel node with the DestroyTunnelNetworkAt command.
How many players can join my server?▾
Our plans have 10 or 50 slots, and the Custom plan goes up to 200. For a full server on a big map, choose more RAM and Above Normal CPU priority, or move to Extreme hardware.
Is Beasts of Bermuda still being updated?▾
Yes. It's in Early Access, and Sastrei Studios released the Guts & Glamour update on 15 October 2026 with hotfixes the week after. Update your server from the Gamepanel so it matches your players' version.
