VEIN entered Early Access on Steam on 24 October 2025. Ramjet Studios plans to keep it in Early Access until it's feature-complete, and updates it often along the way.
The dedicated server is a free, separate download on Steam, so the server doesn't need its own copy of the game. A dedicated server keeps your town online for the whole group, whether or not the person who started it is playing.

How many players can join a VEIN server?▾
Our plans come with 10 or 20 player slots. VEIN is in Early Access, so big player counts can be less stable; 20 is the most we offer for now.
Do I need to own VEIN to run a server?▾
The dedicated server is a free download, so the server doesn't need its own copy of the game. Every player still needs VEIN on Steam to join.
Will my server keep up with Early Access updates?▾
Yes. Update with one click in the Gamepanel, or set up the scheduler to update automatically. Players and the server need to be on the same version to connect.
Can I password protect my server?▾
Yes. Set a password in the server settings, and only players who know it can join. If you get stuck, open a ticket and our support team will help.
What happens to my world if something goes wrong?▾
Every server gets nightly offsite backups at 4AM server time, and you can take your own backup before an update. Early Access updates can change save files, so a backup is worth taking before each big patch.
How much does a VEIN server cost?▾
Plans start from $19.76/month for 10 players with 9 GB RAM. For 20 players it's $48.19/month with 12 GB RAM and NVMe Pro storage, or $54.27/month with 15 GB RAM and Above Normal CPU priority. Every plan is also available on our Extreme hardware, and all of them come with a 48-hour free trial.
