About Subsistence
Subsistence is a first-person open-world survival game from ColdGames, built by one developer. You hunt and gather through changing seasons, build a base, develop technology and defend yourself from wildlife, the elements and AI hunters who build bases of their own.

How do I choose a Subsistence server host?▾
Check a few things: a server that keeps your world online for the whole group, Workshop mod support, a way to upload your co-op saves, a location near your players, DDoS mitigation and automatic backups. A free trial lets you test the connection before you pay. Our servers have all of these, with 20 locations and a 48-hour free trial.
How do I add Workshop mods?▾
Add a Mods= line with the Workshop IDs (the number at the end of each mod's Workshop URL) to your server config and restart. See our Workshop guide.
Can I move my co-op world to the server?▾
Yes. Stop the server, then upload saveFilesList.sav and all the serverSaveGame*.sav files from your Subsistence/Binaries/Win32 folder to the same folder on the server by FTP. See our save upload guide.
How do I log in as an admin?▾
Set AdminPassword in your config. On a password-protected server, join with the admin password; on an open server, follow the second method in our admin login guide.
How do I wipe my server?▾
Stop the server, delete Binaries/Win32/saveFilesList.sav in the File Manager and start it again. Take a backup first if you might want the old world back. See our wipe guide.
