Location and Hardware
Location is the geographical location of your game server. We have many locations, world wide, all in datacenters purpose built to provide the smoothest and most reliable server hosting experience.
When you order your server, you should always choose the location closest to you. This ensures that the distance the network information has to travel is as small as possible, which keeps your ping/latency low; providing the smoothest gameplay.
Hardware is the underlying machinery that powers your game server. It is the most critical factor when it comes to the performance of a game server. Great hardware, great game server, bad hardware, bad game server.
When you order your server, you have the choice of two different levels of hardware. Normal or Extreme Hardware. Normal hardware is best suited to unmodded and/or servers with low player counts. Extreme hardware is more capable with modded and/or high player count servers. Be realistic, do not pick normal hardware, add loads of plugins or mods to your game server, then expect great performance. Pick the level of hardware that matches your desired server setup. It's worth mentioning that you can switch hardware at any time so if you pick normal hardware and find performance isn't up to your standard, we can move you to extreme. The inverse is also true, if you purchase extreme hardware and later want to save money you can move to normal hardware.
Player Slots
Player slots is simply the number of players you can have on your server at any one time. Depending on the game however, this can also include bots and spectators. So when you order, choose an amount of player slots that ensures you have room for all the people you want playing on your server.
RAM / Memory
This is the amount of RAM / Memory allocated to your game server. It is worth mentioning it is a software limit, not hardware limit, so your game server WILL NEVER CRASH due to running out of memory, like some other hosts. We supply a default of 9GB with 99% of game servers; the 9GB default covers the memory a game server uses with the minimum player count, a default world size and default configuration (where applicable, default amount of vehicles, NPCs, zombies, animals, etc) and no mods. the only time it wont be 9GB default is if the game requires more than that just to run idle, like SCUM for example). You will need to purchase more than the default of 9GB if you intend on using any server mods, increased world size, or increased configuration multipliers (for example, dino count multiplier for ARK Survival Evolved servers)
CPU %
CPU % is the measure of total CPU resources you can use. So if it's a ten core CPU, and you have CPU % of 20%, which is our default, you have 2 cores available for your game server. The default of 20% is adequate to provide a great level of server performance. 99% of server owners won't ever need to upgrade past the default of 20%... however, if you do find that you require more, you can purchase more easily, as and when it is necessary. If you run a very large amount of players and/or bots then you may find a CPU % upgrade is beneficial.
CPU Priority
CPU priority controls how quickly your service gets access to CPU resources. For example, if there are 3 services all asking for CPU at the same time "High" priority will always go first followed by "Above Normal" then "Normal" would be last.
Due to the way we manage our servers to meet our high-performance standards, it is usually not an option a casual gamer feels is necessary, as the difference of having the option or not on the average game server wouldn't be noticeable. You can always upgrade your CPU priority at a later date if you feel it is necessary.
Storage type
Storage type is a straightforward choice between faster startup / load times for your game server or slightly slower startup / load times. If you want the faster startup and loading times then choose the nVME Pro option.
Storage Space
Storage Space also commonly referred to as disk usage, is the amount of SSD space that your game server can use. Generally, a customer may not use more than 1.5x the amount of disk space the game on average uses. For some games; usually those with mods that are several GBs in size per mod, for example ARMA 3, an explicit amount of storage is purchased.
Server Branding
Server Branding is very simply whether you have - Hosted by Pingperfect.com in your server name in exchange for a small discount on your server.
Support Level
We have a couple of different support levels.
Ultimately our default level of support is great, low response times to support tickets/queries, and we're available 24/7. The default support level is unmanaged though, so you are the one that will be configuring and maintaining the server. Our Platinum support includes everything that our default level of support has, but it is a managed service, meaning that we will configure/maintain the server for you (there are caveats discussed further on our "support levels" web page here:

DDoS Mitigation
This is included by default, you do not need to "choose" it when ordering.
DDoS Mitigation is there to keep your server protected from DDoS attacks, that can make your server unstable, perform poorly or even knock it totally offline.
Disaster Recovery
This is included by default, you do not need to "choose" it when ordering.
Our disaster recovery system ensures that if anything goes wrong with your server, you can recover all (or at the least the vast majority) of your progress.
