About Nuclear Option
Nuclear Option is a combat flight game from Shockfront Studios. You fly near-future jets and helicopters with detailed flight physics, against AI or other pilots, over dynamic battlefields on land and sea, with an arsenal that goes all the way up to tactical and strategic nuclear weapons.
It has been in Early Access on Steam since 15 October 2023 and is patched often: 0.34.5 on 27 October 2026 added Workshop tags for missions and liveries, and 0.34.6 three days later fixed how dedicated servers show long mission names.

How do I choose a Nuclear Option server host?▾
Check a few things: enough slots for your pilots, fast CPUs for big battles, easy access to DedicatedServerConfig.json and your mission files, a location near your players, DDoS mitigation and automatic backups. A free trial lets you test the connection before you pay. Our servers have all of these, with 20 locations and a 48-hour free trial.
How do I set up a mission rotation?▾
Open DedicatedServerConfig.json in the config editor and add missions to the MissionRotation list, each with its group (BuiltIn for the game's missions, User for custom ones), name and time limit. Watch for a trailing comma after the last mission: it stops the server starting.
Can I run custom and Workshop missions?▾
Yes. Upload the mission folder to the server's mission directory by FTP and add it to the rotation with the User group and the folder's exact name.
How do I install BepInEx?▾
Click Mods in the Gamepanel and install BepInEx Plugin Loader v5, then add one line to BepInEx.cfg as in our BepInEx guide.
How many players can join?▾
Our plans come with 8 or 32 slots, and the Custom plan offers 16. Set the player limit in DedicatedServerConfig.json to match.
