VPS hardware
PingPerfect VPS run on their own hardware platform. It is not the same hardware as our regular shared hardware game server hosting, which is what our managed game servers run on.
Separate hardware
VPS and managed game servers run on different hardware, so a VPS won't perform the same as a managed game server plan.

DDoS mitigation works at the network level. Keeping the operating system, the firewall and your Assetto Corsa server software up to date, and opening only the ports you need, is up to you.

Not sure which side a problem is on? If your VPS can't be reached at all, including from other connections, that points to hardware or network, so contact support. If you can log in but Assetto Corsa misbehaves, it's on the operating system or game side. The developer's documentation and the game's community are the best places to look.
How to run a Assetto Corsa server on a VPS
- Check what the server needs. Read the developer's dedicated server guide for Assetto Corsa: which operating system it runs on, and how much RAM and CPU they recommend for your player count.
- Order a VPS with that operating system, in the location closest to your players.
- Connect to it with Remote Desktop (Windows) or SSH (Linux), using the login details we send you.
- Install the Assetto Corsa server by following the developer's guide, and open the ports it uses in the VPS firewall.
- Share the address. Give your players the VPS's IP address and the server's port so they can join.
Run your server your way: no panel required
A VPS doesn't come with a game server control panel, and you don't need one. You choose how to run your Assetto Corsa server.
No panel: batch files and scripts
Start, stop, restart and update the server with batch or PowerShell files and Task Scheduler on Windows, or shell scripts, systemd services, screen or tmux on Linux. Simple, light and nothing extra to install.
Docker
Run the server in a container to keep each game or instance isolated and easy to redeploy.
Pterodactyl or Pelican
Free, open-source web panels for managing game servers, which you install and maintain yourself.
TCAdmin
A commercial game server control panel. You buy the licence from its vendor and install and manage it yourself.
Scripts, Docker and panels are all set up and managed by you, and fall outside VPS support (see what support covers). Tips for a smooth setup
Size it to your player count
Use the developer's recommended RAM and CPU as your starting point, then compare it with the plan resources listed on the VPS page.
Check the ports before you open them
The developer's guide lists which TCP and UDP ports the server uses; open only those in the firewall.
Use the official install route
Many dedicated servers install through a developer-provided tool such as SteamCMD, which also makes updates easier.
Keep your own backups
Copy your config, mods and save or world files somewhere safe before you change or update the server.

Do you host Assetto Corsa servers?
Not as a managed game server. You can rent a PingPerfect VPS and install the Assetto Corsa server on it yourself.
Is a VPS managed for me?
No. A VPS is self-managed: you install, configure and update the Assetto Corsa server yourself. If you would rather have everything done for you, see the games we host as managed servers.

Is there a free trial on a VPS?
No. Free 48-hour trials are only available on our managed game servers.
Which operating systems can I install on a VPS?
You can pick an operating system at order time and it is installed automatically: Windows, Ubuntu, Debian, AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, CentOS, Fedora, or other Linux options. You can also self install any operating system you like. Operating system support is not included, so check what the game server needs first.
Windows or Linux?
Whichever the Assetto Corsa dedicated server supports. Some game servers only run on Windows; check the developer's server guide before you order.
Can I install mods on my Assetto Corsa server?
Yes. You have full administrator or root access, so you can install any mods, plugins or tools that Assetto Corsa supports.
Will you help me install or fix my game server?
Our VPS support covers the hardware and the network. We don't provide operating system support or game-specific support, so installing, configuring and troubleshooting the Assetto Corsa server is down to you. Is a VPS the same hardware as your game servers?
No. A VPS runs on its own hardware, separate from the shared hardware our managed game servers use, so performance is not the same as a managed game server plan.
Do VPS get the same network and DDoS protection as your game servers?
Yes. A VPS is on the same PingPerfect network as our shared hardware game server hosting, with the same level of DDoS protection and the same low-latency network. The difference is location: VPS are in Dallas, New York and France.
Can I use a control panel like Pterodactyl, Pelican or TCAdmin?
Yes, or none at all: batch files, scripts and Docker work too. You install and manage whichever you choose, and panels are not covered by VPS support. Panels differ in the operating systems they support, so check before you order.
How do I pay?
By card, Apple Pay or Google Pay (through Stripe), PayPal, or Skrill (wallet or bank transfer).
