The long-awaited 7 Days to Die 2.0 “Storm’s Brewing” update is set to revolutionize zombie survival as we know it. Streamer Weekend – June 13th-15th

Experimental Release – Monday, June 16th
The moment many have been waiting for – public access to the 2.0 experimental build begins. Time to put all those new systems to the test.
Full Stable Release – Monday, June 30th
Barring any critical bugs or certification delays, both PC and console players will get the complete Storm’s Brewing experience on the same day.
New 2.0 Features
Survival Redefined: Environmental Hazards & Biome Progression
The Biome Progression Elemental Survival system transforms each environment into a deadly challenge. Face smoke, heat, cold, and radiation damage while crafting consumables for temporary resistance and completing challenges to unlock permanent immunity. Progressive loot caps encourage exploration, while new biome zombies like the desert Plague Spitter and snow Frost Claw bring unique threats to match their harsh environments.
The Dynamic Severe Storm System adds biome-specific storms that force players into shelter. While light rain and snow remain harmless, these severe weather events are true survival challenges that demand immediate preparation and response.
Combat & Progression Overhaul
The perk system gets a complete makeover with all attributes now featuring 10 perks at 5 levels each, plus new Mastery Perk Sets for end-game specialization. A new General Perks tab removes attribute requirements from certain abilities, while the sledgehammer weapon class finally gets its own dedicated book series.
Zombies are evolving too. New Charged Blue and Infernal Orange zombie archetypes join the existing Radiated enemies, bringing unique behaviors designed to intensify late-game encounters and challenge even veteran survivors.
World Expansion & Technical Improvements
The apocalypse gets bigger with 50 new Points of Interest featuring greater wilderness variety and performance-optimized designs. Navezgane receives a strategic redesign with adjusted biome boundaries and relocated trader positions to improve exploration flow.
Crawl-out zombies can now emerge from tight spaces and navigate low obstacles, making formerly safe spots potentially deadly. Technical improvements include meaningful individual footstep audio, optimized tree systems, and a new sub-biome foliage system that creates more natural-looking environments without sacrificing performance.
Quality of Life Improvements
The new Clothing Cosmetic Options system separates protection from appearance – wear the best armor while choosing how you look. Twitch Drops and cosmetic DLC options provide even more customization choices.
Cooperative play gets smoother with Spawn Near Friend functionality and a main menu return button to prevent lobby lockups. The New Quest Marker System features custom flag types for different mission types, while improved random generation offers better wilderness POI spawning and more natural road placement.
Crossplay Finally Arrives: Survive Together Across Platforms
Crossplay on dedicated servers is finally here, allowing PC, Xbox Series, and PS5 players to survive together on the same server with up to 8 players maximum. Console players will see compatible servers in their regional browser automatically, while incompatible servers are filtered out.
Console players also benefit from persistent multiplayer worlds that don’t require the host to stay online. Note that PS5 and Xbox Series clients cannot join modded dedicated servers – crossplay focuses on the core game experience for maximum compatibility across platforms.
Setting Up Crossplay on Your Pingperfect Server
To enable crossplay functionality for Xbox Series and PS5 console players on your dedicated server, you’ll need to configure the following settings in your pingperfect.xml configuration file from your game panel, just make sure to stop the server first:

- Console players will only see servers with compatible settings in their region
