Error on dedi startup: "The host has left the game"

Post by Rawhide » Fri Aug 15, 2014 6:21 am

Hi,
we're trying to upload a client-saved game to the server. I believe we've done it correct, followed the guide step by step.

Persistant is ticked 'on'.

One out of two possible incidents occurs when we try to log in.
1) Message "Host has left the game" before loading the world (on the client)
2) Extremely slow World download (1hour per 5% downloaded of a 10MB big file). Before the world is downloaded, the game will eventually crash. Believe this might be memory-related, SpaceEngineers took no less than 2.5GB RAM and was still rising after 12% downloaded, then it crashed.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Best regards,
Rawhide

We also experienced both of these issues last night.

At the moment the game is fairly broken with Refineries making joining a world take hours, will eventually crash the server and cause major lag. A user on the keen forums has found a workaround which I have copied below

This is due to the refinery problem. A temporary fix (until the developers fix the problem)

- Open the sandbox (instructions - http://pingperfect.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=546 )
- Ctrl-F and find "<Queue>", delete everything from there to the "</Queue>" after it
- Repeat previous step until there are none left

That should remove pretty much all of the excess data from the world file. It'll come back after a little while, best you can do is disable refineries and assemblers

As you can see, no <Queue> ... </Queue>.

But I can find queued stuff in SANDBOX_0_0_0_.sbs. Deletet it there, but only change seems to be that I only get "The host has left the game".

Again thanks for the reply, but could I ask if you happen to have another suggestion?

I had this "Host" error yesterday and the day before yesterday. Really annoying (seems no one can join game if the server didnt restarted recently).

This error is caused if the server hasnt started correctly. If you take a look at the log file (spaceengineersdedicated.log) you will find out why its not working
99% of the time its due to a mod that has been added being taken off of workshop/the mod being incompatible with latest update
