Spawn protection is protection for the area where players spawn when they initially join your Minecraft server, it prevents players from destroying blocks at the spawn point and in the surrounding area.

If you have operators (ops) on your server, spawn protection will be enabled by default and only operators will be able to break blocks in the protected area. However, if you don’t have any operators set on your server, spawn protection will be disabled.

    1. Stop your server.

    2. Click "Configuration Files"

    3. Click "Configuration Editor" next to server.properties file.

    4. Identify the option called spawn-protection and change the value to the number of blocks you would like to be protected
      For example: spawn-protection=20.

Changing the value to 0 will completely disable the spawn protection.

    5. Click on the Save button to save the changes.

    6. Startup your server.
