After the introduction of patch #18, modding in Mordhau has become even simpler to perform. It's a few easy steps which follow:
First, find all the mods you want here: https://mordhau.mod.io/
Make sure to take a note of their Mod ID's.
- Stop your server
- Select "Configuration Files"
- Select "Text-Editor" next to "Game.ini"
- Add the line "Mods=" underneath [/Script/Mordhau.MordhauGameSession]
- After the = add the Mod ID of the mod, For Example, Mods=71385 if I wanted to add the LiteMordhauTestLevel64 Map Mod found here: https://mordhau.mod.io/litemordhautestlevel64
- If you want to use more than one mod, you copy and paste the "Mods=" line below the previous "Mods=" line and change the ID, For Example:
Mods=71385
Mods=116918
7. Save the file in the top left, and start your server - You've successfully modded your Mordhau server!

But make sure you use the Custom Map File names INSTEAD of the Vanilla Map File Names.
IMPORTANT: If you are unsure of the file path for a modded map, you need to ask the mod developer directly.
OLD METHOD PRE-PATCH 18 BELOW.
With patch #11, the Mordhau game developers have introduced a nice and easy way to add mods to your server. There are a variety of mods available, but largely the mods are custom maps. The process of installing mods to your server is fairly straightforward and the following guide takes you through every step of the process.
- Go to https://mod.io/
- Create an account and verify your account.
- Go to https://mordhau.mod.io/
- Select a mod you want, press the red subscribe button on the right-hand side.
- Repeat step 4 until you are subscribed to all the mods you want on your server.
- Go to https://mod.io/ again
- Hover over your username in the top right, select "Profile" from the menu that appears.
- On the left-hand side, under 'Manage' select 'API access'.
- Under "OAuth 2 Management" you will see a field labelled 'Client Name*' , type "Mordhau" into this field and press 'Create Client'
- You will now see a field labelled "Generate Access Token*", Type 'Mordhau Mods' into this field and then press 'Create Token'
- It will have generated your authorisation token, copy this token and store it somewhere safe, you only get one chance to copy/access this token. If you lose it, you will have to complete step 10 again and copy the newly generated token.
- Go to your control panel, select 'Configuration Files', find Game.ini and select the 'Text Editor' button.
- Find the following line : ServerModAuthToken=
- Paste your token next to the above line.
- It should look like this : ServerModAuthToken=eyJ0eXAiOiJKV1QiLCJhbGciOiJ... (actual token length is vastly larger, reduced for ease of reading).
- Save the configuration file by selecting 'Save' at the top.
- Restart your server - it will take longer than a non-modded server to start up as it needs to download the mod files. Once the files are automatically downloaded, you have a modded Mordhau server!
