    It's easy to configure your Pingperfect Zombie Panic: Source Server. Just follow the steps below.

    1. Open the 'Configuration Files' section from your control panel.
    2. Select the 'Text Editor' option next to 'zps\cfg\server.cfg'
    3. Refer to the Example Configuration below and change the respective settings where you need to do so in order to configure your server to your desires.

    // server name

    hostname "YourChosenServerName" <---name of server here

    // rcon passsword

    rcon_password "YourChosenRCONPassword"  <----- Your RCON password, anyone who joins and enters rcon_password then the correct password can perform all  commands.

    // server cvars

    //sv_usescustom 0 <----- Commented out but if you are running gameplay changing mods you should set this to 1 as per the developers requests, makes spotting modified gameplay servers much easier for new players.

    mp_friendlyfire 0 <---- Change to 1 to enable friendly fire.

    sv_alltalk 0 <----- Allow everyone to speak and be heard - Change to 1 to stop everyone from being able to speak and be heard.

    sv_cheats 0 <----- Cheats are off - Change to 1 to enable cheats on your server.

    sv_allowupload 1 <------ Allow uploading from clients to allow people to use custom sprays.

    sv_allowdownload 1  <----- Allow players to download maps and sounds from server.

    sv_voiceenable 1  <----- Enable or disable voice chat in the server.

    mp_timelimit 25 <---- Time in minutes that each map runs for.

    sv_timeout 65 <---- How long before a player is kicked by the server after not receiving data.

    // bandwidth rates/settings

    //Do not change these settings, the defaults work perfectly.

    sv_minrate 4000 

    sv_maxrate 8000 

    decalfrequency 60 

    sv_maxupdaterate 60 

    sv_minupdaterate 10 

    // server logging

    //Keep these enabled unless you don't need logging.

    log on 

    sv_logbans 1

    sv_log_onefile 1 <----- Keeps the number of log files down.

    // operation

    sv_lan 0 <---- Do not change.

    sv_region 5  <---- This is set to Australia, see the table at the end of the guide to find the correct number for the region you desire.

    // execute ban files

    exec banned_user.cfg 

    exec banned_ip.cfg 

    //these will run on map change, sometimes a crash may wipe a recent ban from your banlist, this minimises that issue.

    writeid <------ Writes bans to banned_user.cfg

    writeip <------ Writes IP addresses to the ban folder.

    Please note:

    • If sv_region is set to a specific region (0 to 7) then the server will be listed if this region or "<All>" is selected in the Steam server browser's location filter.
    • If sv_region is set to anything else then the server will only be listed if "<All>" is selected in the Steam server browser's location filter.
