How do I turn on whitelisting for my Terraria server?

To activate a whitelist for the Terraria server, just follow the steps below:

  • Go to your game panel then to the mod manager and install tshock
  • Stop the server
  • Go to configuration files and open config.json under tshock
  • Find the line "EnableWhitelist": false,
  • Change this entry to "EnableWhitelist": true,
  • Start the server for the changes to take effect

The Whitelist is now activated.

How do i add a player to the whitelist?

The Whitelist of Terraria works only via IP address. There is no whitelist for the player name or ID.

  • Go to configuration files then open whitelist.txt
  • Enter the IP address's you want to allow access to the server
  • Save the file then restart your server
    Examples:
    whitelist 192.168.1.1
    whitelist 172.16.23.19

 

How do i change the kick message with Whitelist enabled?

  • Stop the server
  • Go to configuration files and open config.json under tshock
  • Find the line "WhitelistKickReason": "You are not on the whitelist.",
  • Change "You are not on the whitelist." to whatever you wish
  • Start the server

The kick message from the server has been changed.
