Hiding Port Number

Postby Ragonz » Sun May 15, 2016 3:51 pm

Following on from the creating a custom hostname guide, you can go one step further and set it so that your address does not need a port on the end for users to connect (ie. voice.pingperfect.com:9987 becomes just voice.pingperfect.com)

To do this follow these steps

1. Log into your cpanel interface using the details provided to you via email
2. go to Advanced DNS Zone Editor
3. Under "Add a Record" fill in the following Info

Service: _ts3
Protocol: UDP
Name: your chosen hostname (for example if you wanted ts3.pingperfect.com with Pingperfect.com being your domain, you would just enter ts3 here
Priority: 0
Weight: 5
Port: Your server's port
Type: SRV
target: The full record (in this example voice.pingperfect.com)

4. Click "Add Record"
5. Thats it, your done
